He’s particularly interested in how to renew institutions, infrastructure and regulation for the internet era.     Ashish Arora is the Rex D. Adams Professor of Business Administration, Duke Fuqua School of Business. He received his PhD in Economics from Stanford University in 1992, and was on the faculty at the Heinz School, Carnegie Mellon University, where he held the H. John Heinz Professorship, till 2009.

    Benedict Macon-Cooney

    Benedict Macon-Cooney is the Deputy Executive Director for Technology and Public Policy at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change. Benedict works on accelerating science and innovation, with a particular focus on biotech, climate tech and the future of food.

    Caleb Watney

    Caleb Watney was the director of innovation policy at PPI. His work focuses on the policy levers the US can use to increase long-term rates of innovation, including high-skill immigration, basic science funding, R&D incentives, and the development of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence.

    Claudia Persico

    Claudia Persico, an economist, is an assistant professor in the Department of Public Administration and Policy at American University, a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), and an IZA Institute of Labor Economics Research Affiliate. Her research focuses on environmental policy, inequality, health and education policy using causal inference methods.

    Daniel Oberhaus

    Daniel Oberhaus is a science writer based in Brooklyn, New York. He was previously a staff writer at Wired magazine covering space exploration and the future of energy. His first book, Extraterrestrial Languages is about the art and science of interstellar communication and was published by MIT Press in 2019.

    Dirk Auer

    Dirk Auer works as Senior Fellow in Law & Economics at the International Center for Law & Economics. His work focuses on the law and economics of antitrust, with an emphasis on innovation policy, digital markets and European competition law.

    James Bessen, an economist, is the Executive Director of the Technology & Policy Research Initiative at Boston University School of Law. Mr. Bessen has done research on whether patents promote innovation, why innovators share new knowledge, and how technology affects jobs, skills, and wages.

    Joe Kennedy

    Joe Kennedy is currently Senior Principal Economist for MITRE, Inc. He has spent 30 years working at the intersection of public policy and technology. Previous positions include Senior Fellow at the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation, Chief Economist at the Department of Commerce, and General Counsel of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.

    Keith Belton

    Keith Belton is Senior Director of Policy Analysis with the American Chemistry Council. His research and writings explore the intersection of public policy and private markets, with particular focus on economic development, regulation, and competitiveness.

    Larisa C. Cioaca

    Larisa C. Cioaca is a PhD student in Strategy at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. Her research focuses on the impact of government procurement on corporate scientific research, as well as the relationship between public and private science.

    M. Anthony Mills

    M. Anthony Mills is a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, where he studies the federal government’s role in science and innovation and the relationship between scientific expertise and our governing institutions. He is also a senior fellow at the Pepperdine School of Public Policy.

    Marshall Reinsdorf

    Marshall Reinsdorf was a senior economist at the International Monetary Fund and president of the International Association for Research in Income and Wealth. Prior to joining the IMF, he was chief of the National Accounts Research Group at the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.

    Sharon Belenzon s a professor in the Strategy area at the Fuqua School of Business of Duke University and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). His research investigates the role of business in advancing science and has been featured in top academic journals, such as Management Science, Strategic Management Journal and American Economic Review.
